Eye Glass Collection
As you may or may not know the Knights of St Michael’s have been sponsoring a used eye glass collection program in conjunction with St. Michael’s Parish. There is a collection box at the back of the church where parishioners can deposit used glasses. Brother Enrico Garrone has been the chairman of this effort and been collecting used glasses for a number of years now.
It is with pride, that with the latest collection, Brother Bruce McLean will be delivering to our Brother Tony Viani another 197 pairs of regular glasses with 53 pairs of sun glasses. Brother Tony is Program Coordinator of the Dispensing Optical Program at Douglas College in Coquitlam. Tony has the students go over the glasses identify the prescription and labile Thelma so that they can be sent to third world countries. This is an on going program that works, thanks to all who donate, collect and compile.
